Hi, and welcome to my website. I use this space to share what I am working on, my professional experience, as well as some topics I find interesting. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments. Thanks for coming by!

What are my skills? Well…

Registered Nurse

I currently hold an RN license in the state of PA. My license turns 9 years old in July 2021. My experience in direct and outpatient care includes critical care, liver transplant coordination, trauma, sepsis management, and stroke care. I’ve worked all over the country, in ICUs both large and small.

Clinical Informatics and Quality Improvement

Technology is my passion. That’s why I chose to complete my MS in Health Informatics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My education included working with large data sets, data visualization, EHR development and implementation, data project consulting, ad hoc analysis, and human-centered technological development. I also achieved a specialization from Stanford University for AI in Healthcare.

Currently I work as an Improvement specialist. My role is part at an academic hospital system focuses on quality improvement projects for one of the physician service lines. My duties include project management, preparation of internal reports using data visualizations (Power BI), consultative services, and assisting other team members and directors on projects that seek to improve anything from clinical outcomes to workflow efficiency.

Business and Communication

I also have experience outside of the clinical space. I previously worked for a hospital with a 100% referral driven business model. It was up to me to market the hospital’s services to case managers and patients. Working as a liaison developed my skills in sales, relationship building, negotiation, and solidified my understanding of payers and healthcare reimbursement models.

My communications skills are a part of me that I value. I can communicate complex ideas with clarity to wide range of stakeholders, both verbally and through presentations. My background as nurse also makes me an empathetic listener, and has taught me many life lessons about humanity.

Activism

All of my skills culminate into completing one mission: to change health care for the better. In addition to my professional experience, I have the honor of working directly with nurses through activism. I am a co-founder of Nurses Anonymous, a peer-support group that provides a safe place for nurses to discuss, teach, and mentor each other. Our group tackles complex issues in nursing care, such as burnout, grief, and self-care.
